Kaillie Humphries intensified her training for the upcoming Milan Cortina Olympics by clinching victory for the first time since 2023 on Sunday. The United States bobsledder secured her first World Cup win since becoming a mother. Humphries previously achieved gold for Canada in the two-woman bobsledding events at Vancouver in 2010 and Sochi in 2014, along with a bronze in Pyeongchang in 2018. She later switched allegiance to the U.S. and claimed monobob gold at the 2022 Beijing Games before taking a break from the sport in December 2023 for her pregnancy.
Teaming up with Emily Renna, the 40-year-old triumphed in the two-woman World Cup race held in Sigulda, Latvia on Sunday, marking her first victory since February 2023 at the same venue. Expressing her joy, Humphries stated, “Being back on top after three years feels great. This is my first win as a mom, and a first victory for Emily. This is a special moment for both of us. It’s a perfect early Christmas gift for us and the team.”
The bobsleigh competition at the Milan Cortina Olympics is scheduled to take place in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy from Feb. 12-22.
