“Panasonic Toaster Ovens Recalled for Electric Shock Hazard”

Share

A safety recall has been initiated for Panasonic Flashxpress Toaster Ovens in the U.S. and Canada due to a potential electric shock hazard. The affected toaster ovens are identified by model numbers NB-G205S and NB-G200SVA, which can be located on the product label at the back of the toaster oven.

The issue pertains to the power cord of the toaster oven, where inadequate insulation could pose a risk of electric shock or fire due to a protective fiberglass sleeve not fully covering the cord, according to Panasonic’s voluntary recall notice. Panasonic, in collaboration with Health Canada and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, has advised consumers to cease using the affected toaster ovens immediately and return them to the company for a refund.

For more information, consumers can access Panasonic’s recall site or contact Panasonic Canada at 1-888-422-6296. It is reported that 2,184 affected products were sold in Canada and approximately 11,500 in the U.S. between November 2025 and March 2026.

As of June 15, Health Canada has not received any injury reports related to the power cord issue in Canada. In the U.S., Panasonic has received five reports of circuit breakers tripping in relation to the toaster ovens but no reports of injuries.
