The buzz surrounding the approaching 10th anniversary of Damien Chazelle’s musical romantic-comedy “La La Land” is not about its cinematography or the iconic ending, but rather Ryan Gosling’s wrist. Lionsgate Studios revealed a new poster for the celebratory re-release of the movie, addressing a detail that Gosling has expressed regrets about. In a 2024 interview with the Wall Street Journal, Gosling confessed that he would like another chance to redo his role as jazz pianist Sebastian Wilder, specifically referring to a dance sequence where he chose a hand pose that he now believes dampened the energy. The updated poster features a revised version of Gosling’s pose to match Emma Stone’s straight-arm and hand position. Justin Manfredi, Lionsgate’s executive vice-president of worldwide television marketing, mentioned that Gosling approved the change and was pleased with it. Despite the revision, not all fans are happy, with some expressing disappointment on social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok.
