Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are embracing nostalgia by reimagining the iconic Canadian series, “The Littlest Hobo,” for a new generation. The duo unveiled plans for a live-action scripted adaptation of the beloved show during Bell Media’s recent announcement of upcoming projects.

Originally airing on CTV from 1979 to 1985, “The Littlest Hobo” followed the adventures of a clever and compassionate German shepherd that roamed from town to town, aiding those in need. Rogen and Goldberg, who fondly remember the series from their childhood, expressed their enthusiasm for bringing it back with a fresh twist for modern audiences.

Despite the show’s titular character remaining small in stature, the creators promised significant and exciting developments in the revamped version. The production team, casting details, and premiere date for the new adaptation will be disclosed at a later time.

The reimagined “Littlest Hobo” is a collaborative effort between Rogen and Goldberg’s Point Grey Pictures and Lionsgate, known for their acclaimed comedy series “The Studio.” Both Rogen and Goldberg, Vancouver natives, have a successful track record in television and film, with projects like “Superbad,” “Pineapple Express,” “The Boys,” and a reboot of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” under their belt.

In a statement from December 2024, Rogen and his partners emphasized their commitment to delivering top-tier Canadian content through their partnership with Bell Media and Lionsgate Canada. They aim to produce creatively stimulating and commercially successful content that showcases Canada’s entertainment industry on a global scale.
