In the upcoming season of the award-winning animated show “South Park,” creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker are resolute in their decision to continue satirizing U.S. President Trump, despite facing criticism from a new group that they humorously note now “has a military.”

During a recent video spot for the 19th Television Academy Honors, Stone and Parker defended their show’s irreverent nature and their recent focus on mocking Trump’s presidency. They emphasized that “South Park” has traditionally served as America’s court jester, but in the current political climate, Trump himself seems intent on assuming that role.

Reflecting on the show’s history of pushing boundaries, Parker acknowledged the evolving nature of censorship, spanning across liberal and Republican groups. He stressed the importance of having a satirical voice like “South Park” to poke fun at societal norms, especially when faced with a president who seems to relish in comedic antics.

Stone elaborated on their decision to portray Trump as a villain in the previous season, emphasizing their commitment to authenticity and humor, regardless of viewer opinions.

In the latest season that aired in 2025 following a hiatus, “South Park” depicted Trump in a controversial light, including scenes of him in bed with Satan and a satirical campaign ad mocking his physical attributes. The show also targeted other political figures like Vice-President JD Vance, former homeland security secretary Kristi Noem, and former U.S. attorney general Pam Bondi, drawing mixed reactions from those portrayed.

While the White House criticized the show’s content, Stone and Parker remained undeterred, expressing a defiant attitude towards any backlash. They emphasized their dedication to fearless creativity and humor, stressing that they will continue to produce content that they find amusing and relevant, regardless of external pressures.

In a bold declaration, Parker affirmed their unwavering commitment to their craft, stating that they are prepared to face consequences for their work, even if it means being “kicked out of town.” Stone added a touch of humor to the conversation, joking about his multiple properties in response to potential repercussions.
