A 76-year-old woman tragically lost her life following a collision with a shuttle bus in Montreal’s West Island on Friday afternoon. The incident occurred on Marshall Avenue near McMillan Boulevard in Dorval, Que, prompting a response from Montreal police to the Park’N Fly parking lot around 1:25 p.m.

According to authorities, the woman was walking when she was struck by the shuttle bus, which then proceeded to hit five vehicles before coming to a halt in a ditch. Const. Jean-Pierre Brabant, a Montreal police spokesperson, stated that the reasons behind the bus driver hitting the woman and other vehicles are currently unknown.

Upon the arrival of emergency services, the woman was discovered on the ground and pronounced deceased. The 56-year-old male driver of the shuttle, although unharmed physically, was taken to the hospital for shock treatment. Brabant mentioned that the police will be meeting with the driver at a later time.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing, with police advising drivers to consider using alternative parking due to the situation at the crime scene. It is anticipated to be challenging for drivers to exit the lot where the collision occurred as it is now being treated as a crime scene, Brabant highlighted.
