The Rolling Stones have officially announced the upcoming release of their new album, “Foreign Tongues,” scheduled to debut on July 10. Alongside this announcement, the iconic band also unveiled a new single titled “In The Stars.”
To mark the occasion, members Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood will be present at a special album announcement event in Brooklyn later today. This album follows their previous release, “Hackney Diamonds,” which was their first album of original material in 18 years since “A Bigger Bang” in 2005, and notably the first full-length album without drummer Charlie Watts, who passed away in 2021. However, “Foreign Tongues” will feature a special appearance by Watts from one of his final recording sessions, as well as collaborations with music legends like Steve Winwood, Paul McCartney, Robert Smith from The Cure, and Chad Smith from Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Mick Jagger expressed his enthusiasm for the recording process of “Foreign Tongues,” emphasizing the intense yet passionate atmosphere during the sessions at Metropolis in London. The band continued their successful partnership with acclaimed pop producer Andrew Watt, known for his work with artists like Post Malone and Justin Bieber, who also contributed to their previous album.
Hints of the new album had been circulating for some time, with mysterious posters around London under the band name “The Cockroaches,” a familiar alias for The Rolling Stones. Clues led fans to a vinyl release of the track “Rough and Twisted” under this name, building excitement among dedicated followers. Subsequently, billboards featuring the band’s iconic logo and multilingual phrases hinting at “Foreign Tongues” began appearing worldwide, amplifying anticipation.
Further teasers included the band’s website updates with surveillance-style video clips and a slide puzzle revealing the album cover, further fueling speculation. Lastly, a brief video snippet teasing a new song added to the buzz surrounding the upcoming album.
