On the contrary, four players, including Shota Imanaga of the Chicago Cubs and Gleyber Torres of the Detroit Tigers, accepted the offers, which were set at $22,025,000 US for the 2026 season based on the average salary of the top 125 MLB players.

Additionally, pitchers Chris Bassitt and Max Scherzer, along with infielders Ty France and Isiah Kiner-Falefa, are also free agents. The league has seen limited notable signings during the early stages of the offseason, except for Canadian player Josh Naylor, who secured a significant five-year contract worth $92.5 million US with the Seattle Mariners.
