Singer and actress Selena Gomez is facing a lawsuit from investors who allege she engaged in fraudulent behavior by neglecting her responsibilities to develop and promote her mental health startup. The investors, who contributed around $1.2 million to Wondermind Global, a venture launched in 2021 aimed at enhancing mental wellness, filed the lawsuit in federal court in Delaware.
According to the plaintiffs, Gomez, a prominent figure in social media with over 500 million followers, had committed to actively participating in the company’s growth as the head of marketing. However, they claim that Gomez and other executives failed to fulfill their commitments, including the creation of a mobile application.
The lawsuit states, “Gomez purportedly agreed to contractual obligations but failed to follow through.” The investors assert that the company did not have any legitimate operations and failed to meet its fundamental obligations, such as timely payments to employees and vendors.
A spokesperson for Gomez has not yet responded to requests for comments. The lawsuit reveals that the investors were unaware of the company’s challenges until a news article surfaced online in September 2025, outlining the issues. The plaintiffs are seeking the return of their investments along with legal expenses.
