Lindsey Vonn once again demonstrated her supremacy in downhill skiing during the current Olympic season. Securing her second World Cup downhill victory in four races, Vonn, at the age of 41, showcased her remarkable comeback following knee reconstruction with titanium implants.
Competing in challenging and overcast conditions in Zauchensee, Austria, Vonn outpaced Kajsa Vickhoff Lie by 0.37 seconds. Her enthusiasm was evident as she cheered from the leader’s box when her teammate Jacqueline Wiles finished in third place, trailing by 0.48 seconds.
Despite a shortened course that she completed in less than 67 seconds, Vonn reached speeds of 130 kph, marking one of the fastest performances by a female racer this season.
Reflecting on her victory, Vonn expressed her joy, stating, “It feels amazing.
